Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose a naturopathic physician?
Naturopathic medicine offers you choices. The best way to treat most conditions is with whatever you will actually use. Medicine doesn’t help you if it’s still in the bottle, whether it’s an antibiotic or an herbal medicine. I will offer you a range of appropriate options and will answer your questions so you can choose what is right for you today, and you can know what other options are available for the future. As your life changes, your medical care can change with you. Working with a naturopathic physician means you can have your standard wellness exams and lab tests as well as address your ongoing health concerns and goals. Everything is available, from meditation and exercise to physical therapy, mental health referrals, and prescriptions when needed.
How long does it usually take to get an appointment?
Dr. Liz is committed to getting people in when they need to be seen. An appointment in a month won’t help if you are sick today. Most acute conditions can be seen same day or next day. For less urgent appointments, you can usually get an appointment within 1-2 weeks.
Do you accept/ bill insurance?
The short answer is “yes.” The longer answer is “yes, but please check with your insurance carrier because not every policy is the same.” Dr. Liz is in-network with many insurance carriers but it’s always a good idea to make sure that your specific policy covers naturopathic care as primary care and that Dr. Liz is a covered provider.
I am happy to help you make sure you ask the right questions of your insurance company so you get the right answers. I am licensed in Oregon and can provide primary care to many people, while some insurance policies consider naturopathic care “specialist” care. Please email me to make sure I can help you get the right information from your insurance carrier.
